Local students are learning more about water and where it comes from, thanks to a partnership we have with the Inland Empire Resource Conservation District, which provides water education on behalf of the district to students in grades K-5.
With most schools back in the classroom the 2021-2022 academic year, we were happy to resume 13 different programs teaching children about the water cycle, uncovering the mystery of groundwater, water conservation, and educating them about the importance of water recharge in the Wash to keep our Upper Santa Ana River Basin healthy. This year’s programming reached hundreds of students at Smiley, Valley Prep and Mariposa elementary schools in Redlands; Loma Linda Academy in Loma Linda; and Belvedere Elementary in San Bernardino.
