Drought? We are better prepared than most

SBVWCD Newsletter

Much of California is braced for another period of drought as the state experiences another year of record lows in precipitation.

Thanks to the collaboration of area water agencies, cities, and other partners, our region is better prepared than most. More than 70,000 acre-feet of groundwater stored in 2019, and ongoing contributions of water and resources through the San Bernardino Basin Groundwater Council have significantly boosted local water supplies for when we need it.

Like money in the bank, water should never be wasted — but it provides an important cushion to help withstand the shortfalls when they happen.
